Ordinarily, visiting one of the most important banking destinations in the world would not seem like a great getaway.  Ordinarily you might not be thinking about the Grand Cayman Islands.  Despite its notoriety as a major banking and business location, this is a tropical paradise.

1. Stingray City:  How many people do you know who can say they have been able to get in the water to pet a stingray?  How about to pet dozens of stingrays?   You can at Stingray City.
2. Snorkeling in the Grand Cayman Islands is one of life’s treasures.  With reefs, wildlife, and absolutely beautiful clear water, there are many dive shops to choose from, whether you want to stick close to land or go to beautiful isolated spots.
3. Seven Mile Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.  If you’ve never walked on sand that feels like flour, this beach will blow your mind.  The entire stretch of this beach is public.
4. When you visit an island, you can almost count on there being shipwrecks.  The Grand Cayman’s are no exception.  Atlantis Submarines gives you an opportunity to visit those shipwrecks, as well as tropical fish, shallow reefs and everything else that makes the Grand Cayman’s special. . .as long as it is underwater.
5. The Cayman Turtle Farm shows how the natives help take care of nature.  This facility lets visitors learn about turtles, caiman, birds, and many other animals.
6. Mastic Reserve is another way that the flora and fauna of Grand Cayman is protected.  This reserve protects an area of the subtropical forest that otherwise would be disappearing through deforestation.  This three kilometer long trail lets visitors walk along the shore and through a dry forest.
7. Camana Bay offers you a chance to do some shopping and people watching while you’re visiting the island.  Hop on a bike or take a stroll, the shopping here would fit in at some of the best shopping experiences around the world.
8. Q.E. II Botanic Park is an opportunity to see some of the most beautiful wild orchids in the world, along with many other memorable and colorful flowers.  You can also see wild iguanas, and maybe snakes, and turtles too.
9. Pedro St. James is a national historic site which houses a restored 18th century plantation house.  This house has historic significance because it was here that in 1831 the decision was made to make the Cayman Islands a democracy with an elected parliament.
10. Hell is a town sitting amongst black rock formations that do not appear very hospitable.  Alas, there is a comfortable boardwalk as you wander through Hell looking for just the right souvenir to remember your visit to. . .well, you know.

The Grand Cayman Islands are more than just beaches to sit on and drink fruity drinks.  Although that is there too.  No matter what you choose to do when you visit, you will have a great time.
