The tropical island paradise offers plenty of holiday events unique to the Carribean, including boat parades featuring vessels lit up with Christmas lights. Learn about four more holiday events happening on Grand Cayman guaranteed to make your season extra special.

Jingle Bell Walk/Run

Join locals and tourists alike for this annual 5K and 10K walk/run benefiting the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre. Participants enjoy a savory free breakfast and spot prizes will be distributed. People of all ages are encouraged to run or walk, and even four-legged friends are invited (assuming they are well-behaved.) Santa Claus will make a special appearance as well. The run starts at 7:00 am on Sunday, December 1st at the Holiday Inn Resort and goes to 11:00 am; however, runners and walkers must arrive at 6:30 am. Tickets are KYD $25 in advance and KYD $30 on race day.

Christmas Moonlight & Movies

Get cozy with your favorite people under the stars at this free event on Tuesday, December 17th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The Crescent in Camana Bay will show a Christmas movie on a giant screen against a gorgeous backdrop including the moon, a towering Christmas tree, and light-wrapped palm trees. Chairs will be provided.

Gingerbread House Workshop

Take the family to the Ritz Carlton on West Bay to spend an afternoon creating classic gingerbread houses complete with gumdrops, icing, and other candy embellishments. The Ritz puts on this workshop on Sunday December 8th, 15th, and 22nd from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm, and on December 21st from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. It costs $75 per gingerbread house, with enhancements such as fencing, snowmen, and trees costing $15 and $12.50, respectively. Get all three enhancements for $30. The event happens in the hotel’s Royal Ballroom.

Holiday Beach Barbecue

Enjoy another Ritz Carlton event on Thursday, December 26th or Monday, December 30th for the Holiday Beach Barbecue. Enjoy the glow of the stars and the fire at this Seven Mile Beach event that includes live music, marshmallow roasting, and other family-friendly fun. Tickets cost $110 for adults and $55 for children between 6 and 12. Children between 3 and 5 get in for $30.
